Partnership with Evergreen Bilingual Institute
WACE works with the Evergreen Bilingual Institute to ensure that elementary students get the head-start they need in their Chinese education. For every volunteering session with WACE, Evergreen Bilingual Institute donates $10 to our cause.
Along with offering Chinese classes (grades 1-5), the Evergreen Bilingual Institute also teaches math, piano, and the arts. If you live around the Eastside area, this is a great way to not only provide your child with a place to stay after school while you work, but also to give him/her a competitive academic advantage.

Apply
Email WACE if you would like to apply for a teacher or volunteer position.
*Teachers are expected to uphold a weekly commitment of 2-3 hours for a minimum of one school year. They will be responsible for teaching a class of around ten elementary school students. Evergreen Bilingual Institute expects teachers to do certain amount of preparation before each class. If a teacher cannot come in for some reason, the institute must be given at least one day's notice through email or phone.
*Volunteers are not expected to have a weekly commitment. They can come without prior notice. However, they are expected to stay for 2-3 hours in one volunteer session. They will be responsible for overseeing classes, one-on-one tutoring with elementary school children, and assisting the teacher. Volunteers are still required to provide the institute with contact numbers, to call if an emergency substitute is needed for an absent teacher.
