WACE Booth at Sammamish Days 2012
WACE hosted a booth at the annual Sammamish Days this year to spread cultural awareness and generate interest in learning Chinese within the community.
This year, we focused on promoting the launch of our second annual Why Learn Chinese competition in the fall. We communicated our goals as an organization to the community and advertised our upcoming WACE-Panda Express fundraiser dinner. We also created interest surrounding the integration of Chinese programs in schools across Washington State as we informed the community of the recent addition of Chinese into Skyline High School’s world language curriculum. Many people expressed interest towards our WLC competition, tutoring service, and our future plans as an organization.
At our booth, we featured:
1 exhibition table displaying Chinese artifacts, traditional Chinese clothing, and a poster detailing Chinese culture and history
1 WLC display table also presenting information to our tutoring service and other initiatives
1 activities table featuring a calligraphy bookmark booth, hand-painting, fortune cookies, and a learning how to use chopsticks game for children
