Sammamish Days 2011
WACE and Skyline Chinese Cultural Club teamed up to host the "China Booth" at Sammamish Days this year. The Chinese-themed face-painting took the stage once again, as did our first unveiling of the Why Learn Chinese Competition initiative to the public. We received many questions about our organization, & goals, the competition, volunteer opportunities, and our tutoring services.
We also acquired 4+ pages of parent/student signatures for our petition to bring more Chinese language programs into Washington schools!
As seen from the photo gallery below, the booth featured:
1 Why Learn Chinese Competition display table,
1 display table with beautiful Chinese artifacts and a poster explaining some of China's extraordinary history,
1 activities table with calligraphy, make-your-own-Beijing-Opera-mask arts n'crafts project, and a fun Chopsticks Challenge,
1 face-painting table.
